Location



Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary



Provides leadership and direction for all physical plant operations in collaboration with other department leadership. Responsible for developing, administering and maintaining departmental policies and procedures, budgetary decisions, and department scope and responsibilities. Responsible for the administration of human resources, budget, business processes (including continuous improvement and customer service), and training. Responsible for the operation of the assigned facilities management and employees. Directs operations for MEP, Energy Management, and Infrastructure Renewal of facilities across both campuses. Purchasing approver for campus wide purchases that affect facilities issues.

Responsibilities



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides leadership and direction for the operational management, strategic planning, internal procedures and controls, and supervision of personnel
2. Establishes budget guidelines and prepares annual operating budget; implement and allocate resources following budget approval
3. Consults and coordinates with University officials on matters of policy, interdivisional interaction, and capital improvement
4. Establishes goals and objectives for the Division that are supportive of the President, Vice Presidents, Deans, Directors, and Department Chairs to ensure support of the University¿s mission
5. Organizes and manages the Division through proper planning and policy formulation to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency; advise the AVP of Campus Operations of all institutional policies and procedures related to the management of the physical resources of the University
6. Establishes best practices and standard operating procedures related to all aspects of facilities management
7. Oversees operation and maintenance of campus and building infrastructure in a manner that is efficient, reliable and compliant with codes and regulations
8. Tracks preventative maintenance, work orders and repair history on all major equipment
9. Maintains a prioritized list of the institution¿s deferred maintenance projects list for future funding
10. Oversees the development of design criteria for new MEP systems from an operational perspective
11. Works with Design and Construction Department assisting with design review and quality control
12. Participates in field inspection of major renovations and new construction
13. Develops and maintains agency contracts, in cooperation with the Office of Procurement
14. Provides the University with a safe, reliable, and functioning physical learning environment
15. Provides leadership in the development and support of a campus-wide energy management program and sustainability programs

Required Qualifications



Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Facilities Management, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience



Required Experience
Eight (8) years' experience in facilities management at an institution of higher learning or at an organization similarly complex.
Progressively increased responsibility in management and personnel supervision required.

Preferred Qualifications

CEFP, completion of APPA Institute



Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education relevant to job



Preferred Experience
Working knowledge of the International Building Code, EPA/EPD regulations, ADA law, state procurement law, OSHA regulations, Sustainability best practices, building systems, work request systems, facilities performance indicators, and/or facilities data analysis

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)

Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
