Overview:

The Materials Manager will oversee the planning, procurement, and control of company materials and components. This position coordinates all materials activities involved in the identification, acquisition, and distribution of company goods, as well as maintains and optimizes the materials portion of the company's MRP/ERP System. The Materials Manager oversees the inventory, purchasing, and the shipping and receiving departments in order to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment, as well as maintains company inventory levels and required supplies to ensure the production and on-time delivery of finished goods.

Additional responsbilities include:

• Negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, as well as monitors their performance
• Approves high dollar purchase orders and material requisitions
• As Manager, handles hiring, training, management, and the discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy

The Materials Manager should have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships interdepartmentally as well as with vendors and suppliers. An exceptional ability to analyze data, problem solve, and manage time and work is also required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field required
• At least 5 years of experience in materials control field (purchasing, procurement, supply chain, planning, scheduling, production control) required
• Three years of experience as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position required
• Proficient with inventory and manufacturing systems
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
• Be able to sit for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
