Mechanical Designer, Engineer and Manager
Our client is looking for a full-time Mechanical Designer, Engineer, and Manager for their Mechanical/Plumbing department. Client is a full-service mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design business in El Cajon, California. We are a developing organization that values professional growth and fosters a friendly, educational environment.
**IDENTIFICATION SECTION**
Title: Mechanical Designer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary/Objective
The Mechanical Designer position designs mechanical systems for residential and commercial buildings.
Essential Job Functions
Essential Functions are the fundamental work responsibilities that an employee must be able to do, with or without appropriate accommodations. Reasonable accommodations can be given to allow people with disabilities to perform important duties.
1. Basis of design writing.
2. Attend meetings with clients and take diligent notes.
3. Attend job site walks to observe existing conditions and construction progress.
4. Design from conceptual design phase through construction.
5. Specification writing.
6. Ability to climb ladders and survey construction sites.
7. Working knowledge of the codes & standards
8. Ability to read construction documents.
9. Ability to design mechanical systems
10. Ability to design plumbing systems
11. Ability to perform Mechanical Engineering Calculations
12. Provide responses to Requests for Information (RFI's)
13. Provide Submittal reviews
14. Performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives.
15. Understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals.
16. And all other tasks assigned.

Navisworks or similar clash detection design tool

Supervision Received
The work is performed under supervision of the Principals, Directors, Managers and Engineers.
Supervisory Responsibility
Supervise Technicians.
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent 5 years of experience.
2. Licensed to drive in CA.
