About the role:

Gartner is looking to hire Principal Security Engineer (IAM) focused on stable, secure, and proactive management of the Identity service to on-premises and cloud services at scale in a rapidly growing environment. The role requires understanding and implementation experience of the IAM technologies such as authorization, federation protocols SAML 2.0 and OIDC, SCIM provisioning, management experience leading teams and collaboration with stakeholders which helps in the implementation and operations of the solutions to address identity challenges.

What you will do:

Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement best in class customer Identity solution(s)

Identify risks based on NIST CSF framework and provide solutions

Ensure successful design and implementations on IAM projects with-in agreed timelines

As an SME, Mentor team members, security engineers and analysts

Support complex single sign-on, provisioning/de-provisioning, and federation solutions based on SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect

Troubleshoot and resolve scenarios escalated

Identify problem areas and propose solutions to future proof identity challenges

Create technically oriented materials including internal and external tech notes, architectural diagrams, operations procedures, how-to procedures, and user-facing technical documents as relevant

Participate and contribute to the short term and long-term roadmap initiatives

What you will need:  

Strong IAM with 12 + years’ experience of working on IAM and other IT security, Operations projects in a fast-paced, time-bound environment.

Must have:

Experience with the design and implementation of any of the IAM solutions required; SSO (SAML, OIDC), MFA and Password less Solutions on Ping Federate, Ping One platforms

Experience with technologies such as Role-Based Active Control (RBAC) and Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC)

Experienced in information security technologies and industry best practices

Experience creating detail design documents for solutions being implemented in Identity and Access management applications

Experience leading teams in implementation of projects or in an operations role

Experience collaborating, partnering, providing consultation with technology or business stakeholders

Experience with scripting (PowerShell, python etc.) and automation solutions

Good to have:

Familiarity with PKI, SSL Protocols and Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP)

Familiarity with Active Directory Services, LDAP

Experience working with fast-paced operations/dev teams and DevOps practices is preferred

Keep up with new technologies and engineer solutions as applicable

Who you are:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems or similar

Excellent communication, prioritization, and people management skills.

Able to work independently or within a team proactively in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment.

Owns success – Takes responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions.

Strong desire to improve upon their skills in trending and future technologies

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 128,000 USD - 186,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
