This person will plan, organize, assign, review, and evaluate the work of the staff. Provides direction, development, and guidance. Addresses/implements changes that impact various processes within Patient Access Department. Provides on-going training; motivates staff to achieve goals and objectives. Keeps staff informed of changes in provisions and requirements for governmental, managed care programs, and hospital information resource systems. Assists manager with daily operation and department staffing schedule. Coordinates with ancillary departments to achieve efficient patient care delivery system. Schedules all applicable patient care procedures accurately as to procedure type, exam, area, physician referral, location, and time of procedure; balances exams with patient/customer time requests and provider availability.
