Job description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Database Administrator with a proven track record in maintaining high-performance SQL Server environments. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SQL Server databases to ensure their reliability, security, and availability. Working closely with our Analytics team, you will contribute to the development of an Enterprise Data Warehouse and enhance reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server database software and related tools.
Design and implement database solutions to support business needs and enterprise-scale data warehousing and reporting systems.
Monitor and optimize database performance for high availability and scalability.
Troubleshoot and provide timely resolutions for database-related issues.
Implement and maintain robust database security measures and access controls.
Conduct database backups, restores, and data migrations as needed.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize database usage.
Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.
Stay informed about the latest industry trends and best practices in database administration.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator or in a similar role.
Proficiency in database design, SQL scripting, and query optimization.
Collaborate with the database Architect to enforce coding standards.
Mentor junior SQL developers for code reviews, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Strong knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SQL Server Management Studio, TSQL, Microsoft Server Administration, C#, Azure DevOps, Jira, and Redgate Software Tool.
Troubleshoot and debug ETL and ELT data importation processes.
Expert level skills in database backup and recovery procedures.
Expert level T-SQL coding skills.
Familiarity with Oracle databases and PL/SQL coding skills (a plus).
Experience with Agile processes and the SDLC process.
Ability to design and create new processes and programs for data consumption and usage.
Ability to create and manage SSAS cubes.
Ability to debug and program SSIS packages.
Manage SQL Server security via Windows Active Directory groups and administer role-based permissions.
Handle code deliverables via the change management process and manage CI/CD processes for the cloud environment.
Responsible for server patching and regular server maintenance.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus.
Familiarity with cloud-based tools/software/concepts (Snowflake, DBT, and Rivery or Five Tran experience a plus).

Working Conditions:

Flexibility to work in an office and/or remote environment.
Occasional schedule flexibility may be necessary, with the potential for meetings or critical job functions outside of normal working hours.
Physical Demands: Must be able to communicate internally and externally through receiving and responding to auditory and visual methods.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 48.00 61.00 Per Hour
