Senior Manufacturing Engineer

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with various engineering disciplines, machine shop personnel, and assembly floor teams to ensure successful project realization, manufacturability, inspection, and assembly of products. The primary focus is on developing cost-effective processes and procedures to enhance fabrication methods, reduce costs, and meet product specifications.
Job Duties:
Provide technical support to Business Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, QA/RA, and Purchasing.
Evaluate designs to create, verify, and validate cost-efficient manufacturing, inspection, and assembly processes.
Troubleshoot and provide solutions to challenges in manufacturing processes.
Demonstrate hands-on proficiency in developed and existing processes.
Analyze data on existing and proposed processes, including calculating production costs.
Provide directional guidance to junior engineers.
Collaborate with outside suppliers for development requirements and issue resolution.
Ensure compliance with regulations, company policies, and best practices.
Attend or lead meetings as necessary for team collaboration.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years of related industry experience.
Design and development experience in regulated industries, preferably in the medical device sector.
Knowledge of IEC 60601-x, ISO 13485, Title 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971.
Proficiency in 3D Solid Modeling CAD software, preferably Solidworks.
Hands-on experience with small electromechanical systems/devices.
Familiarity with Microsoft Project.
Experience with CNC equipment operation and programming.
Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability/Inspection/Assembly (DFMIA).
Understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
Ability to conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and stress analysis.
Application of Lean Methodology principles for process improvements.
Application of statistical methods for analyzing data in testing, manufacturing, inspection, and assembly processes.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to make a significant impact on the development of innovative medical devices.
