The Product Development Technician I I will provide technical assistance and perform testing related to ongoing Product Development team projects and initiatives.  This individual will assist in the management of testing area equipment and perform associated maintenance and shop upkeep . The role will a ppl y broad knowledge of principles and practices in a specific practice area. The Technician II will Independently evaluat e , select, and adapt standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. The individual will a cquire general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields, and ability to function on multidisciplinary teams and will w ork on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects .  

Primary Job R esponsibilit ies :  

• Fabricates test equipment, testing setups, prototypes, and other items required  
• Performs complex testing tasks and summarizes data.  
• Leads other tasks such as: preparation of project materials, material testing, drawings, and computer aided design (CAD) work.  
• Aids in the installation of test projects (including instrumentation, data collection, and data analysis) for the purpose of evaluating company products  
• Receives general direction on key objectives .  
• Receives guidance on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria  
• General shop upkeep  
• Other duties as assigned  
• Minimal travel required  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :  

• Possesses intermediate oral and technical writing skills  
• Interacts with other staf f  
• Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of technician assignments  
• Effective verbal & written communication skills   

• Indirect management: Assigns basic tasks to and coordinates with technicians or administrative staff.  

Qualifications  

• 2-Y ear Technical Degree preferred; commensurate experience considered  
• 3+ years of similar experience
