JOB SUMMARY
The Program Manager plays a crucial role in the recruitment and selection of prospective graduate business students. This position involves overseeing various aspects of the admissions process, including but not limited to lead outreach, applicant tracking, interviewing candidates, and evaluating scholarship and admission decisions. This position will partner with internal and external University partners to increase the number of applications from targeted populations to graduate business programs, including MS and Graduate Certificate programs.
The Program Manager personally contacts and meets individually with prospective students to provide admissions counsel and guidance. The position is responsible for leading recruiting events, such as information sessions, open houses, class visits and external facing events for their assigned programs. The position requires broad knowledge of the St. Thomas graduate business programs’ defining characteristics, as well as active acquisition of information on competitive programs and their features. As a member of the Admissions Committee, s/he makes recommendations for admission and scholarships, and is responsible for admit and non-admit correspondence. The Program Manager assists in the achievement of annual enrollment goals and measures and reports results of recruiting activities regularly. Market knowledge acquired by the Program Manager is systematically captured and proactively shared with the immediate and cross-functional team as appropriate to support the improvement of the quality and competitiveness of the program. Strong communication skills, an understanding of the business school’s values and offerings, and a keen eye for identifying promising candidates are essential for success in this role.

An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in admissions or recruitment, preferably in a higher education setting, particularly in MBA or graduate program admissions
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated effectiveness in public speaking and presenting, especially in conveying the unique value proposition of the MBA program in the context of the University’s Catholic identity
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, including prospective students, educational counselors, business leaders, faculty, and alumni
Self-starter. Able to work independently, multitask effectively, foster teamwork, and partner with stakeholders as appropriate
Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated work in a professional business setting
