We’re seeking a skilled and experienced lead paralegal to support our growing legal team. Applicants must show 7 - 10 years of progressive experience working in family law and probate law of which 5 years must be working with Georgia law. The ideal candidate for this position will use their work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, conduct legal research, and lead and provide feedback to lower-level paralegals and legal assistants. Please note that only candidates with family law/probate experience and residing within two (2) hours of the Atlanta, Georgia area are being considered at this time. The position is 95% remote and 5% in the office. Competitive compensation is available with benefits. Compensation: $30.50 - $35 per hour + bonus + benefits D.O.E. Responsibilities: • Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings • Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers • Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues • Take care of administrative tasks such as answering phones and maintaining an organized filing system for all legal documents • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer • Review documents and work provided by lower-level paralegals and legal assistants • Provide feedback and coaching as needed to lower-level paralegals and legal assistants Qualifications: • At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting • Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred • Strong oral and written communication skills • Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree preferred • Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills are needed in order to work with all levels of staff and clients • Must have 7 to 10 years of progressive paralegal experience • At least 5 years of Georgia family law experience required • At least 3 years of probate experience preferred • Experience leading lower-level paralegals and/or legal assistants required • Enjoys working for and with people of diverse, ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills are required in order to work with clients, staff members, and other attorneys • Strives for excellence • Ability to be empathetic, compassionate, but tenacious Compensation: $30.50 - $35 hourly DOE
