The neutrino group at Florida State University is searching for a postdoctoral associate to work on the DUNE and COHERENT experiments. The group's strengths involve searching for new physics phenomena such as dark matter and hidden sector forces using low-energy neutrinos with accelerator and astrophysical sources. The group also has expertise in simulation, detector calibration, and data monitoring. The candidate would be involved with real-time triggering of the ProtoDUNE-VD detector on a supernova neutrino burst and analysis of data from COHERENT's soon-to-be commissioned 750-kg argon detector. Diverse additional areas of research within DUNE and COHERENT are possible.
A successful candidate will have expertise in on or more aspects of particle physics or a related branch of physics such as data acquisition, detector operations, offline reconstruction, and data analysis.
Depending on the candidate's research course, the position will be based at Florida State University (Tallahassee, FL), Fermilab (outside Chicago), or ORNL (Oak Ridge, TN). The position is available for two years with extension possible depending on funding.
