Job description

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Software Developer to support our El Paso, TX (Fort Bliss) location. Our team is looking for an exceptionally motivated self-starting Software Engineer with a background in front-end/UI software development. The candidate will provide hands-on technical experience to our growing team of cyber, space, and engineering professionals who design, implement, test, and deploy end-to-end 2D/3D geospatial solutions.

Duties Include:

• Create end-to-end solutions for sharing 2D/3D components that animate, visualize, and explore spatial data in cloud and enterprise environments.
• Use JavaScript, Java, and/or Python to develop front-end applications that follow industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment models.
• Solve and articulate complex problems through application design, product development, and user experiences.
• Work closely with product engineers to innovate, develop, and enhance visualization techniques to interactively explore the spatial data.
• Contribute to unit tests that back the quality of the development.
• Utilizing Palantir Foundry, develop custom dashboards and workflows.
• Leverage the knowledge of peers and stakeholders to better understand the customers’ greatest pain points and solicit feedback from both customers and colleagues to improve the product.

Required Skills/Experience :

• 2+ years of front-end development experience with a fluency and passion for JavaScript

• Proficiency with front-end/UI development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Node.JS, ReactJS, TypeScript, and JSON.

• Ability to work closely with software developers, product engineers, and documentation writers to build quality software in a constantly evolving agile environment

• Understanding of relational database design, implementation, and usage

• Effective time management and organizational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with authentication schemes such as OAuth, PKI, etc. and multithreaded programming

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Travel: Up to 10%

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements :

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Desired Skills :

• Java and Groovy for back-end applications and data integration tools
• Typescript, React, Leaflet, and d3 web technologies
• Python for data processing and analysis
• Experience with Palantir’s Foundry environment
• Understanding and/or experience with data pipeline development using Apache Spark/PySpark
• Prior experience with software development and release of commercial software products
• Experience with Agile software development using Scrum
• Experience with writing testable software
• Knowledge of JADC2
