Job Summary: About the Role & Team We are a dynamic fast-paced team supporting Disney Studios! We are hiring for a HR Specialist to support our Team in Burbank, CA. The HR Specialist serves as a sounding board and provides advice to employees/clients on the appropriate interpretation and application of HR policies, processes and practices. The person in this role has the ability to take ambiguous situations and provide clarity. They work with functional subject matter experts, team members, and leaders to complete tasks. They are also the main point of service contact for client related questions and business issues including but not limited to HR policies, processes, leaves of absence, corrective actions and staffing needs involving hiring approvals and position management. This role is expected to assess, prioritize and act on client requests as needed and communicate needs that require additional support to the appropriate source. (e.g. Employee Relations, Compensation, Organization Management, Talent Acquisition, Global HR Operations). The HR Specialist is based in Burbank, CA and reports to two Sr. Manager, HRBPs. What You Will Do As the key contact for employees and managers, provide high-quality, timely and professional client service and follow through to ensure appropriate action was taken In partnership with Global HR Operations, support onboarding related activities with a focus on coaching managers with onboarding plans, and orienting new hires to the resources they need in order to be successful In partnership with Global HR Operations, coordinate off-boarding related activities and provide support to exiting employees Establish and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with HR functional partners Assist in advising/providing guidance in the administration of HR related policies and procedures, such as: Position Management Maintain accurate org charts for client areas, as needed In collaboration with HRBP team members, create and implement employee engagement and development offerings such as Lunch & Learns, partnership on Townhalls, New Hire Welcome meetings, intern experiences, Speaker series, etc. Provides insight to leaders and HRBP’s in the development of talent solutions, resources for career development, client specific learning opportunities and/or job descriptions for recruitment Maintenance of local communication boards (OSHA / minimum wage posters, etc.), as required Proactively document, maintain, and organize area practices and protocols related to HR policy administration and standards Create reports and/or presentations that discuss the findings of a research effort or project and present information in a clear and compelling way Stay current on changes to HR policies and processes, and communicate changes to appropriate audiences Required Qualifications & Skills Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an HR professional role, or related talent focused field Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Power-point, Outlook Solid knowledge of HR systems, policies and processes including: SAP and/or Workday, hiring, performance management, and talent and succession planning Proven ability to work with confidential information – while exercising sound judgment and decision making Strong service orientation, with ability to effectively partner (internally and externally) with all levels of the organization Ability to positively confront issues and resolve conflict Strong verbal and written communication and positive influencing skills Organized and demonstrated ability to manage your time effectively, gauging expectations with stakeholders along the way Ability to manage multiple client groups and prioritize complex projects in a fast-paced and high volume, matrixed environment Ability to effectively manage project work while balancing priorities Education ~ BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or equivalent experience The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $57,900 to $77,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
