Job Title : Patient Service Representative

Department : Cayuga Center for Healthy Living/Cayuga Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery

Reports To : Practice Manager CCHL/CCMBS

Job Summary :

This position is responsible for scheduling and registering patients. Must be proficient in phone/voicemail management, computer skills, communication skills, and teamwork . This position will also collect visit co-pays and have knowledge of insurance program requirements. Input and update patient data. This position will assist with daily clinic cleaning. Revenue cycle related duties and other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  1. Strong oral and written communication skills
  1. Ability to assess situations and make decisions
  1. Must complete yearly mandatory safety in-services and/or trainings
  1. Must complete yearly HealthStream e-Learning Courses
  1. Must adhere to patient safety "Red Rules" and infection prevention policies

Education - High School Diploma

Experience - 3 years office preferred; medical office highly preferred

Licensure - N/A

Physical Requirements -

  1. Ability to sit for 4+ hours per day/shift
  1. Ability to carry and lift a minimum of 20#
  1. Ability to escort patients from the waiting room
