The Role
The Onsite Medical Nurse Supervisor provides clinical management for acute, work-related and non-work-related medical emergencies for employees in an automotive manufacturing factory. This individual will supervise the staff of On-Site Medical Nurses with direct accountability to the Emergency Medicine physician. The role supports additional clinical and administrative occupational health services.
Responsibilities
- Manage RN & Locum RN staffing, shift schedules, supplies, equipment, budget, PO's, policies, process flow (OSM), emergency plans, maintenance and other administrative aspects of the On-Site Medical station, locum agencies and staff
- Works with paramedics (Tesla EMS) to respond to acute medical emergencies. Most work will be conducted from a dedicated On-Site Medical facility, but may require field response to support on-site EMTs
- Provides clinical assessment, triage, first aid treatment and/or stabilization, disposition (i.e., return to work or home; referral to emergency department, urgent care or external physician appointment; referral to personal physician for non-work-related conditions)
- Ensure professionalism, certification/competency and quality of services and documentation among nursing staff by observing interactions, eliciting feedback from stakeholders (i.e., patients, supervisors, EHS, Security) and providing feedback to Emergency Medicine Physician supervisor (independent contractor, off-site), the Tesla Corporate Physician, and Medical Operations
- Manage bloodborne pathogens (BBP) program including training for On-Site Medical facility & program management. This includes any annual immunizations, certifications, or otherwise deemed mandatory measures for compliance
- Serve as a liaison to external medical entities (i.e., emergency department, urgent care facilities, on-site Personal Medical Center) to ensure employees' care and information is transitioned smoothly, in conjunction with the Workplace Health team
- Conduct regular clinical reviews with Workplace Health to assist with OSHA recordability, workers' compensation, and other administrative determinations
Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited, four-year college or university
- Currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of California, in good standing with no disciplinary actions
- Minimum 2 years Supervisory clinical experience or comparable work history
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification preferred; and mid-level practitioner
- Minimum 5 years of experience in emergency department, urgent care, or similar acute care environments encompassing the scope of medical and traumatic conditions
- Supervisory clinical experience in outpatient/ambulatory settings including workplace or occupational medicine clinic. Experience with and knowledge of workers' compensation and private medical insurance, and OSHA recordability criteria. (preferred)
- Current training in Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required

Expected Compensation $84,000 - $258,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
