Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant serves as an integral member of the accounting department by ensuring that customer data and general accounting data is entered accurately and timely. Performs accounts receivable and general accounting duties at the direction of the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities
- Perform day to day transaction entry with precision
- Provide excellent customer service when responding to customer inquiries
- Daily calls to customers for past due collection
- Resolve account discrepancies through research
- Ability to prepare journal entries
- Basic understanding of general ledger accounts and financial statements
- Ability to analyze records and reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the accounting department
- Assist in supporting role of month end and year end closings
- Intuitive with technology
- Thorough understanding of accounts receivable
- Perform support in other areas as needed and assigned

Work Schedule
- Standard office hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Education/Experience
Computer Skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
- Experience with accounting software preferred
