Capitol Auto Group is seeking an Automotive Controller to join our team!
The Controller reports the financial condition of the total dealership to the CFO regularly and accurately. Processes and generates financial data for all dealership departments, which together represent the accurate financial condition of the business. Provides accurate reporting to the CFO and is responsible for accounting office and administrative functions.

Essential Duties:
- Hires, trains, and supervises office personnel
- Prepares a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and within each manufacturer’s (Chevrolet, Toyota, and Subaru) format and timeframe
- Provides department managers with detailed financial and management reports
- Reviews the general ledger and scheduled accounts. Notes any unusual entries and investigates
- Reviews the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable, and floor plan payable
- Coordinates annual audit (or review) and physical inventory
- Ensures that all office personnel are using proper accounting procedures and maintaining accurate records and analyses and supervises the preparation of all information for the CPA in order to minimize audit or review costs
- Continually strives to improve data integrity and information reporting throughout the dealership
- Attends manager meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Controller in an automotive dealership setting
- Proven ability to foster a positive team environment
- Critical thinker and effective in time management
- Extremely high level of attention to detail
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- A positive attitude and exceptional work ethic
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
