A successful candidate performing in this role would need to be self-motivated, resourceful, articulate, and demonstrate the ability to work well independently as well as within a team environment.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
Financial Record Maintenance:
- Month-end close activities.
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Budget Management:
- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets.
- Track and analyze budget variances and report findings to management.
Financial Reporting:
- The Staff Accountant will generate regular financial reports for management review.
- Provide financial statements and reports as required for audits.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and policies.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with vendors, review invoices, and ensure timely payments.
- Negotiate favorable terms with vendors to optimize cost savings.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and provide support as needed.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to improve financial processes and controls.
Bookkeeper Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus
- Relevant work experience in healthcare finance is a plus.
