General Requirements:

Support the PD by assisting in the preparation and submission of all information required and requested by the ACGME , participating in annual surveys and submit program forms and annual program updates to the ADS .

Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean for GME .

Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:

The Associate Program Director provides leadership in resident education and program administration to meet the goal of continuous program improvement. The successful applicant will work with the program director to direct the development of curriculum and rotations and ensure compliance with accrediting bodies. The associate program director will assist the program in fulfilling the requirements of accreditation through the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education ( ACGME ).

Duties and responsibilities

In conjunction with the PD, oversees and ensurse the quality of didactic and clinical education in the sites that participate in the program.

Ensures the quality of care provided by residents in the program is of the highest caliber, and that lapses in quality are appropriately investigated, resolved, and used to improve processes and education.

Monitors resident supervision at participating sites.

Participates in development of faculty development programs.

Assisst in the recruitment, interviewing, selection, matching, and onboarding of residents for the residents for the residency program.

Provides didactic instruction for residents as assigned.

Participates in the Residency Advisory Committee, Clinical Competency Committee, and Program Reviews Committee and other committees as assigned.

Supervises residents in the continuity clinic and provide direct patient care as scheduled. Supervises physician extenders when applicable.


Other Specifications/Instructions for the Position:

This position is located in Huntsville, Texas. There may be occasional in-person events and meetings at the medical campus in Conroe, Texas.
