ModeX Therapeutics, an OPKO Health Company, is seeking a highly talented and motivated scientist to play a key role in advancing our groundbreaking efforts in developing mRNA-based therapy for next-generation multispecific antibodies targeting COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. This individual will carry out early research projects from developing novel vector system to evaluation of novel gene delivery technologies using in vitro assays and in vivo animal models. The primary responsibilities will include orchestrating the entire research process, encompassing experimental design and execution, data analysis, and presentation. Major responsibilities

• Interact closely and be part of interdisciplinary research teams to drive the discovery of innovative mRNA-LNP delivery technology and the optimization of their biological and

• biophysical properties.
• Characterize and evaluate the mRNA-LNP delivery platform including stability, delivery efficiency, and critical quality attributes.
• Execute in vitro and in vivo studies to assess the potency, breadth, and efficacy of mRNA-encoded antibody candidates.
• Generate and maintain relevant reagents, including cell lines, viral particle stocks, antigens, and antibodies for qualification and quality control purposes.
• Effectively interpret results and communicate findings with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure project success.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest scientific advancements and contribute to the integration of new technologies and instruments.
• Maintain comprehensive, high-quality, and timely documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in molecular biology, chemistry, biomedical engineering, or related fields, with 0-2 years of experience in academia or industry.
• Expertise in the development of lipid nanoparticle formulation preferred.
• Hands-on experience with cellular and molecular assays and protein biochemistry, including molecular cloning, cell culture and transfection, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, protein purification and characterization.
• Proficiency in mRNA-LNP production and characterization, including but not limited to standard lipid nanoparticle formulation, size and surface potential measurement, RiboGreen RNA assay, and cell-based assays.
• Additional experience with in vivo animal model is highly valued.
• The ability to independently design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and proficiency in data analysis.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced work environment and the capability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams.
