Full Stack Engineer

NourishedRx is building an innovative end-to-end digital health platform to improve the lives of those suffering from chronic disease, food insecurity, and social isolation and leveraging the power of food and behavioral economics in the $30 billion “food as medicine” market. NourishedRx partners with health plans and employers to deliver personalized food plans and home delivery of a wide assortment of healthful nutritious meals to their most vulnerable members – those facing nutritionally sensitive chronic health conditions and who are often at risk of food insecurity.

We are building our new technology team as NourishedRx is poised to make an impact on the “food-as-medicine” market, to build a technology solution that will ultimately impact hundreds of millions of at-risk Americans. With modern technology and a patent pending, NourishedRx is transforming the way health plans engage and treat targeted high risk individuals.

Role and Responsibilities: 

Reporting to the CTO, our engineers will be responsible for developing, launching and scaling the B2B2C platform from 0 to 1. 

Key responsibilities of the role include: 

• Build and scale a marketplace product that is based on a validated business idea serving health plans, food vendors, consumers, and healthcare systems. 
• Ensure engineering and operational excellence, meeting or surpassing company and team level OKR's
• Work to a rigorous Quality Assurance level, practicing test-driven development through to User Acceptance Testing.
• Ensure digital security and healthcare compliance of the platform for all members and patients.

Professional Qualifications: 

• A proven engineer with experience building multi-sided marketplaces or similar B2B2C technology solutions within a dynamic growth-stage environment. 
• Strong understanding of or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience. 
• Exceptional technical capability, with deep knowledge of and experience with modern software development practices and technologies. 
• Experience with modern technology and the latest open source distributed systems and architecture; experience with cloud platforms like AWS/Azure, Docker, continuous integration/deployment, data engineering/science and modern development languages such as Javascript, Python, ReactJS, Node.js. 
• Experience in designing and building secure REST APIs using oAuth2
• Passionate about building and scaling early stage start-ups and leading them through rapid growth.
• Experienced in building complex technical solutions with deep knowledge of key architectural principles found in highly scalable systems. 
• Strong computer-science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
