UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently hiring a full-time Medical Assistant/ Patient Service Coordinator to support our medical oncology office located in Washington, PA. This will be a Monday through Friday daylight position. No holidays or weekends are required! Limited travel to our nearby Waynesburg office will be on an as-needed basis.
Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary based on their individual experience and education.
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting physicians with various aspects of patient care (including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks) ensuring patient satisfaction. Daily tasks will include taking vital signs, registering patients, scheduling testing, exams, and treatments, as well as stocking supplies, and cleaning exam rooms.
The Patient Service Coordinator is an advanced Medical Assistant type role. This position will be utilized in a dual capacity; at times the staff member will be asked to function like a Medical Assistant, rooming and triaging patients, stocking supplies, cleaning rooms, etc. At other times, this staff member will be asked to function in the business office where they will answer phones, schedule patients, check in and check out patients, and other duties as assigned.
