Our client designs and manufactures dynamic cables and hoses for the international energy, seismic and defense industries. Our manufacturing plants in Houston allow on-site production, servicing and repair for large cable projects. Our client is a subsidiary of a premier manufacturer of irradiated, specialty wire and cable products for harsh and demanding environments.
Job Summary
Conducts the installation, preventive maintenance, modification and repair of a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment. Responsible for diagnosing, resolving problems, estimating budgets and repair costs.
Job Description
- Responds to break downs, troubleshooting mechanical equipment and electrical control circuits, diagnosing and repairing, adjusting and calibrating, overhauling and replacing defective parts, reassembling, testing and adjusting complex mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Performs Preventive& Predictive maintenance such as inspecting, replacing components, testing and adjusting mainly cabling machines, extruders, braiders, compressors, and air conditioning.
- Makes recommendations on cost estimates and decisions to replace and repair equipment.
- Modifies and upgrades equipment and unique systems to meet operational requirements.
- Orders parts and supplies.
- Provide maintenance support coverage for all area production facilities.
Skills Required
- Experience with PLC’s and drives
- Good understanding of machine operations and the interaction of Electrical or Mechanical Components.
- Must have good basic math skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Electrician license/certification is a plus.
- Formal trade related training/education and or certification(s) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize tasks in a self-directed work environment and maintain.
- high levels of productivity without direct supervision
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability as a team player and strong work ethic.
- Five years proven, relevant experience in this industry.
- Must have his/her own tools.
- The ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds, stand, kneel, reach and sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Possession of a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma
Additional Requirements
- Work Hours:
- Monday to Friday 7AM – 4PM; 8AM – 5PM
Pay Rate/ Salary
- $25 and up depending on experience. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skill set and / or location.
