Job description

Serve a critical role in ensuring processes are in control and continually improved. The position requires skills and initiative in problem solving, auditing, procedure writing, measurement systems, SPC and Six Sigma. Good familiarity with the ISO 9001Quality Management System standard, current edition is necessary to lead and assist coworkers toward company objectives. The position reports to the Director of Technical & Quality Systems and may include direct supervision of Quality Technicians if/when as signed. Ensure and improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) to achieve Quality Objectives. Maintain the QMS to fully satisfy the ISO 9001 Quality Management System Standard, current revision including specific duties in:Document Control, revision control. Performing internal procedural and process audits. Participation in External Audits. Leading, driving effective Corrective and Preventive Action. Calibration and MSA of measuring and monitoring systems. Daily disposition of product held for quality reviewDaily investigation and reporting of quality issues. Coordinate Quality Department weekend coverage. Training of personnel as appropriate. Other reports, projects or tasks as assigned

Qualifications - Good familiarity and experience with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System standard, current revision. Ability to improve the QMS to meet higher QMS standards as assigned. Six Sigma Green Belt required. Six Sigma Black Belt or CQE preferred. BS in Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred but not required. 2+ years direct experience as a quality and/or process engineer in a manufacturing environment. Experience in a heavy manufacturing industry is highly desired. Competency in SPC, MSA, Auditing and Calibration is required. Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, Kaizen, SMED, and other lean tools is preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Experience at writing new or revised procedures. High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills are necessary. Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills. Must be able to effectively present logical information in a structured fashion to different levels of the organization and customer base. Travel 10 - 15%.
