TIME FRAME: ALL JAZZ FEST EVENT DAYS
April 25 to May 5, 2024
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide assistance to the festival by running errands for artists or tour manager during festival event days at the designated stage. This position is stationed at the assigned stage and operates under the supervision of the Backstage Manager(s).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist artists and tour managers with errands and transportation as requested.
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with artists, festival staff, and volunteers.
- Manage petty cash and receipts as dispensed by artist tour management.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive matters.
- Surrender any documents, computer programs, designs, or other intellectual property created for the Festival to the Festival through your supervisor or department head at the end of each production year or upon request.
- Attend and successfully complete any necessary training.
- Submit all required feedback forms and final reports.
- Fulfill any other work-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- It is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism
- Must maintain confidentiality regarding program participation and any sensitive issues
- May not post on Social Media about any aspects of the position
- Any document, computer program, design, or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival belongs to the Jazz Festival and must be given to the Festival through your supervisor or departmental head at the end of each production year, or upon request.
- Must complete all required Feedback/Evaluation Forms and Final Reports.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Previous experience as a professional film/event runner is preferred.
- Candidates must be 25 years of age or older.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
- Good knowledge of the New Orleans metro area streets is necessary.
- Ability to operate a 15-passenger van is essential.
- Familiarity with festival/special event production is advantageous.
- Knowledge of musical instruments and gear is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for interactions with artists, volunteers, and Festival staff.
- Endurance is required for long hours in an active, potentially stressful production setting.
- This is an active role that may involve some lifting.
