Job description
Work Location is Remote with periodic travel to site in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
No clearance required but must be able to pass a federal background check and drug screen (includes marijuana).
Requires DOE experience within the past two years.
40-hour work week with possibility for overtime.
SCOPE This position will function as a Lead Planner / Scheduler in the Program Management Office, working closely with project managers, engineers, procurement staff, construction managers, contractors, and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction. Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long-lead procurement items, and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects. Develop schedule logic and realistic activity durations. Analyze available manpower and resources, commodity charts, trends, schedule variations, schedule performance, and schedule forecast. Assess the impact(s) of design changes and schedule slippages and inform company management and clients of all schedule updates. Apply vast knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critical path logic networks; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting. Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems. May interface with clients, attend regular meetings. This position will
support the P6 administrator as needed.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS This position REQUIRES direct experience working on a DOE EM FAR-based Tier 1 level contract or other DOE experience within the past 24 months specifically performing the following:
- Primavera P6 experience
- Knowledge of Deltek COBRA or other cost processor
- 20 plus years of Project controls cost and schedule analysis experience
- DOE EM EVMS experience including development and implementation of system requirements/ configuration, integration between P6 and COBRA, monthly reporting
- (IPABS, etc.).
- Support DOE EM EVMS certification CAMP closure
- Support field PC personnel with systems, data generating/analysis, and EVMS training
- Procedure development for Project Controls functions that are EVMS compliant, including desktop guide development
- Develop and maintain lower level data merged from the various business systems to support field analysis. Candidate must have expert level Excel experience including pivot table development, “V” look-ups, formulas, etc.
- Must have a vast amount of knowledge and experience with Change Control management
- Knowledge of General ledger (accounting) systems & data – Deltek Costpoint preferred
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of management and field personnel both in written and verbal formats
Performing these functions under a non-DOE EM FAR-based contract will not qualify as a substitution for the requirement.
Education and Experience Requirements: - 14-19 Years with BS
- 12-17 years with MS
- 9-14 years with PhD or JD
- 4-8 years with MD or DVM
Education Equivalency: 2 years of relevant experience for 1 year of college.
