Safety Manager
Classification: Exempt
Essential Responsibilities
- Have knowledge and enforce compliance of regulatory requirements (i.e., OSHA, EPA, etc.), including company EHS policies and procedures.
- Uses every opportunity to drive EHS awareness by demonstrating safe behavior, continuous self-development and education in areas of environmental, health & safety compliance, industry trends and regulatory developments
- Ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations
- Coordinate all activities associated with the environmental, health and safety requirements
- Manage all aspects of facility EHS program including hazard recognition & control, incident investigation and implementation of proactive safety initiatives.
- Implement corporate safety policies to comply with OSHA, EPA, or other environmental, safety or health requirements.
- Conduct emergency response, incident/injury and near-miss investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Implement initiatives to support effective injury/illness case management, return-to-work programs, and investigation and management of HSE related cases.
- Interpret and assess complex environmental regulations and issues, focusing on maintaining and enhancing the facility's flexibility and business advantage.
- Perform facility EHS inspections.
- Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE.
- Have knowledge and enforce compliance of regulatory requirements (i.e., OSHA, EPA, etc.), including company EHS policies and procedures.
- Ability to oversee Hazardous Waste Storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance i.e., labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or equivalent.
- Deadline driven with excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage through others.
- Ability to understand technical/business aspects of the manufacturing processes and effectively translate regulatory impact on various operations.
- Excellent communication skills (listening, writing, and speaking).
- Strong aptitude for teamwork and managing multiple tasks at the same time.
- Strong ethics, values, and a passion to preserve human life and the environment

Specific Qualifications:
