Job description

Our client with headquarters in Redwood City, CA has successfully raised $40+ million in Series A funding to build a ground-breaking AI based product guide that will help everyone be more successful and happy at work. The company leadership team has had prior start up exit success in a $550m sale in 2018.

Due to product growth they are currently searching for a Senior/Staff Backend Software Engineer who will be responsible for building the core product. Prior experience of building SaaS enterprise platforms along with a deep knowledge of distributed computing and a master of Java are highly desired.

The client prefers to hire a successful candidate in the Bay Area who can work in a hybrid capacity (3 days from home, 2 days in the office per week) but will consider outstanding candidates who have Production Experience with LLM's ( OpenAI, Llama 2, Anthropic etc).

What You Will Be Doing

You will be responsible for building out the core product utilizing Java, Python, Distributed Databases and AI technologies.

What You Need for this Position

- B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or related fields.
- 5+ years of industry experience building SaaS platforms.
- Deep knowledge of distributed computing and high availability services.
- Expertise in data modeling and database technologies.
- Mastery in Java. Additionally, expertise in Python is a plus.
- Production experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup environment.
- Production experience working with LLMs is a huge plus.
- Passion for tracking metrics and data-driven performance improvement.
- Highly scalable and available non-relational databases.
- Experience with Microservices architecture and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High standards, collaborative, a positive attitude, and an open mind.
