Brown & Brown Insurance is seeking a Member Advocate to join their Benefits team in Perrysburg, OH.
The Member Advocate provides services to clients' HR contacts, plan participants and internal teammates. This position helps with benefit explanations, serving as a liaison between plan participants and carriers, works with Account Managers on all aspects of a client's ongoing plan operations service needs and stays up to date with carrier programs and claims processes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Assist clients and members with their day-to-day service questions and requests as it relates to claims and/or benefits.
Handle inquiries from members; keep Account Team apprised of any volatile situations.
Identify trends or deeper-issue problems where an error is affecting multiple members in a single group, and quickly communicate these issues to the Account Team
Identify eligibility and enrollment issues and hand off to the Enrollment Specialist, including ID Card requests.
During the marketing process, obtain information from members when needed for medical underwriting.
Mediate conversations between the member and carrier or Provider
Assist members with completing FormFire and Employee Navigator
Consistently document all interactions in the Agency Management System
Properly save documents within the internal system
This position does NOT guarantee benefits or accept pre-certifications. Any information regarding benefits should be conveyed with the proper caveats (such as “according to XYZ carrier, your deductible is met,” etc) The best option is to obtain this information while facilitating a call with both the member and the carrier.
Submit ideas and information for custom education pieces to Team Lead, Account Manager and Educational Engagement Coordinator
Complete all saving and documentation daily within the internal Account Management System
Maintain and organize all files to ensure most current and accurate data in files.
Maintain high level of confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
Interact professionally with all clients, carriers and internal Teammates.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
Two or more years related experience in Employee Benefits
Life & Health Insurance License for the state of Ohio – can be obtained within 90 days of employment.
Intermediate computer skills
Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Browsers
