About the position
This position will be responsible for conducting immunological assays to support the preclinical research and development activities for immunotherapies as part of a multi-disciplinary team of chemists, immunologists, and engineers. The position will also provide support for candidates to plan, execute and analyze immunoassays. The primary focus for the successful candidate will be the assessment of immune responses elicited via immunotherapies with autoimmune, cancer or other antigens targets using our SNAP platform. Data collection will require the use of flow cytometry and other immune technologies. The resulting data will help guide the development of vaccines for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases. The role will be primarily laboratory-based, but there will be opportunities for planning, presentation, and strategy with acquired experience.
Key responsibilities include
- Perform preclinical studies to include coordinating with CROs, processing of blood and tissue samples, flow cytometry, ELISAs, data acquisition
- Analyze acquired data, synthesize findings, and recommend next steps in regular written and oral presentations
- Manage and organize immunology/biology lab inventories, instrumentation, and spaces
- Work with the research team to help design research studies in animal models and in vitro to identify promising formulations for advancement to lead development.
- Interface with the chemistry team to set priorities for synthesis and testing of candidate immunotherapies
Essential knowledge, experience, and skills
- BS or MS in immunology, biology, or related discipline
- Lab experience in the conduct of immunological assays, preferably including:
- Preparation of immune cells from animal or human tissues and cell cultures
- Flow cytometry (staining, collection, and analysis)
- Cell culture
- ELISAs (preferred)
- The ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
- Experience using SOPs and operating under quality systems
- Experience in data management, analysis, and presentation
Compensation
- Salary commensurate with experience ($25/hr)
- Flexible work schedule
