Assistant Financial Controller
Banking Circle US is a fully clouded, scalable financial infrastructure provider building the first and only real-time clearing and settlement network globally. Our mission is to build proprietary access to all the worlds major currencies on one platform and create a financial ecosystem that cuts out the time and cost of cross border payments, enabling a new way for financial institutions and corporates to service online merchants. Banking Circle US will offer an API-based product for domestic and cross-border payments, as well as foreign exchange services. We will serve U.S. banks and their overseas counterparties, payment service providers, and large corporates.
To support the growth and evolution of our Finance department, we are looking for a detailed oriented Assistant Financial Controller to support our Finance function.
Responsibilities As Assistant Financial Controller you will report to the Lead Financial Controller. You will be a part of our growing Accounting/Finance function which supports both internal and external stakeholders. This includes day-to-day tasks, periodic reporting and continuous improvements in terms of processes, controls and systems.
Your daily tasks will be related, but not limited, to the following areas:
- Generally support the finance function including the month-end closing processes, preparation of account reconciliations, management reporting, budgets an accounts payable
- Support external and internal audits and preparation of annual financial statements
- Prepare various financial regulatory reports using Adenza / Axiom tool
- Support the treasury function including: Primary responsibilities: ensure the timely settlement of Bonds, Payments and FX, monitor intraday liquidity, exception Management
- Drive the continuous improvement agenda within the department Identify opportunities and proactively make recommendations for business development and strategic opportunities
- Contribute to accounting research and recommendations on the application of accounting standards under US GAAP
- Continuously take part in the improvement of operational procedures and contribute to offer a continuous quality services to other departments
Education and Experience You should be a team-player who is professional, analytical, solution-oriented, positive and energetic with excellent verbal and written skills.
Preferred qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Auditing, Accounting, Finance/CPA
- 5+ years of experience within the banking/financial services industry in Finance
- Knowledge of US GAAP accounting, reporting and best practices
- Treasury and Regulatory reporting experience a plus
- IT skills: MS Excel, MS Dynamics 365 Business Central (Dynamics NAV) or similar accounting/ finance applications
- Strong analytical skills and detail-focused
- Proven problem assessment and solving skills
- Continuous improvement mindset
