Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining and providing sterile instruments and supplies for surgery. Requires memorization skills and attention to detail. Must hold current sterile processing tech certification or obtain certification within 6 months of hire.

Animas Surgical Hospital is a drug free workplace and performs a pre-employment alcohol and drug screen which includes marijuana.

Compensation: $18.00 - $34.41

Minimum Requirements

Education : High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent experience

Certification, Licensure: CSPDT or CRCST

Experience, Training, Knowledge: Two (2) to three (3) years experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Physical Requirements

Must be able to see in order to read, write, and perform clerical/secretarial job duties. Must be able to hear and speak in order to communicate with others in person and by telephone. Must have manual dexterity to use a computer keyboard and other usual office equipment. Light to moderate physical effort may be required to lift, push and pull carts .

Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures

Exposed to noxious fumes, gases, mists/dust, and poor ventilation; environmental hazards, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids and/or tissues, electrical current/high voltage, chemicals/solvents, radiation and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste that may require protective clothing/equipment.

ASH IMMUNIZATIONS AND VACCINATIONS REQUIREMENTS- Aligns with CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) for Healthcare Personnel

Hepatitis B- Lab evidence of immunity to Hepatitis B or three doses Hep B vaccine at appropriate intervals


Influenza- mandatory from November 1st through March 31st each year

Measles, Mumps, and Rubella - Lab evidence of immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or 2 doses of MMR Vaccination

Varicella (chickenpox) - Lab evidence of immunity to Varicella or 2 doses of Varicella Vaccine

Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) - documented proof of immunization

Tuberculosis Screening- All new-hires undergo a two-step TB skin test
