Job description
We're searching for a detail-oriented Junior Loan Officer. This position will play a vital part in communicating with referral partners, current and past clients, real estate agents, lenders, and underwriters to nurture relationships and develop new business. You will facilitate the completion of real estate loan applications, collect, analyze, and review supporting loan documentation in accordance with loan guidelines, and provide support throughout the loan application process. Responsibilities:
- Communicate with the senior mortgage loan officer/ MLO to make a recommendation of which mortgage loan products are best suited depending on applicant’s financial status
- Liaise between realtors, senior MLO / mortgage loan originator, underwriter, mortgage lenders or mortgage bankers, and loan processors on behalf of the applicant as needed to assure the loan transaction is successful
- Assemble financial information to assist with loan applications, prepare loan files, and assess applicants’ financial situation and eligibility
- Monitor sales pipeline, meet sales expectations, get referrals, and generate new business opportunities
- Consult with potential loan applicants - answer questions and provide additional information about home loan products to create personal relationships
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of previous experience fulfilling the roles of an LOA/Loan Partner, Processor, Loan Officer, and/or Underwriter
- Must have a current working knowledge of mortgage loan products (FHA/VA/CONV) and knowledge of mortgage procedures, processes, and documentation
- Working knowledge of automated underwriting systems such as DU and LP
- The ability to analyze credit reports, income, and asset documents, as well as an understanding of general ways to structure a loan
- Excellent time management, interpersonal, communication, and follow-up skills
- Having an NMLS license is not required, but is preferred
- MS Office proficiency required; some CRM, MLS, DU, and proprietary mortgage software preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent customer service and communication skills and willing to go above and beyond for customers and team
