The Enterprise CTO is uniquely positioned to help solve challenging problems that face our healthcare system today. By serving the whole of UHG, the ECTO is uniquely positioned to leverage technology to serve complex problems challenging many of our consumers and internal lines of business.

The Healthsafe ID Team at Optum is working to bring industry-leading Identity technology and user experiences to tens of millions of healthcare consumers and providers. In this role, you will collaborate with teams and lines of business across the Optum/United Healthcare enterprise to build and run a seamless consumer-grade, secure and performant Identity Platform, and user experience.

Platform. Reporting to the Director of Technology, you will partner closely with Engineering and collaborate with numerous stakeholders across the business.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design, implement, configure, own and maintain AWS/Azure/Private cloud services
• Build infrastructure as automation code for the public cloud using Terraform, GitHub actions
• Work on projects requiring packaging, deploying, and managing containerized workloads running on Kubernetes
• Resolve issues and provide technical assistance on the cloud-hosted environment
• Create and maintain cloud security strategies, policies, procedures, and documentation
• Identify opportunities for improvement, optimize performance, strengthen security posture, and increase scalability of existing solutions
• Promote a DevOps culture to deliver high quality applications and infrastructure
• Demonstrate solid analytical and critical thinking aptitude with problem-solving skills
• Be available on-call to triage and fix production issues

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer
• 3+ years of experience in AWS, Azure, and private cloud
• 3+ years of experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools
• 4+ years of experience in monitoring and alerting tools, particularly Dynatrace and Splunk
• 4+ years of experience in CI/CD automation scripting languages and tools like Terraform, Jenkins and Ansible for automating and managing development, testing, and deployment processes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Azure
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with F5 load balancers, GTMS and LTMs
• In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking
