Job description
District Partners is engaged with a leading international energy organization dedicated to advancing the adoption of renewable energy solutions worldwide. We need to plug in a top CFO with proven experience in the energy space, specifically renewable on a fractional basis to help with project-based work for the next 6 months. Potential to become the full-time person, but for now we need a steady hand. Targeting local resources in Dallas, and or someone that is willing to travel in on a weekly basis onsite with the team.
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will play a pivotal role in the organization's leadership team, overseeing all financial operations and driving strategic financial decision-making to support our mission and growth objectives. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will provide financial leadership, planning, and guidance to ensure the organization's financial health and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and long-term objectives. Lead the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, treasury management, tax compliance, and internal controls. Ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and develop risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization's financial assets and reputation. Monitor financial performance indicators and adjust strategies as needed.
- Manage the organization's investment portfolio and capital structure to optimize returns and support strategic initiatives. Evaluate potential investment opportunities and partnerships to enhance financial sustainability.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, board members, and department heads, to provide financial insights and support decision-making across the organization. Represent the organization in financial matters with external stakeholders, including investors, donors, and regulatory authorities.
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to finance staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification highly desirable.
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in senior financial leadership roles, with experience in renewable energy, clean tech, or related industries preferred.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
- Deep understanding of international finance, including foreign exchange, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and cultures.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term priorities with long-term goals and navigate complex financial challenges.
