The Valley Health System Consolidated Services The Valley Health System has expanded into an integrated health network that serves more than two million people in Southern Nevada. Starting with Valley Hospital Medical Center in 1979, the Valley Health System has grown to include Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center, Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center, Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, Summerlin Hospital Medical Center and  Henderson Hospital.

Job description: Performs a broad scope of advanced administrative and clerical duties, exercising considerable initiative and judgment.  The Medical Staff Coordinator prepares reports, correspondence to practitioners, documents as appropriate and distributes accordingly exercising skill, judgment and attention to detail. Candidate will serve as a backup for the Medical Staff Director as necessary.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of three to five years medical staff services experience in an ambulatory care or managed care setting required.

T echnical Skills: Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheet and database. Ability to take and transcribe minutes. Ability to think critically, analyze complex documentation and recognize items requiring further investigation.

Other: Knowledge of medical staff functions and processes, bylaws, rules/regulations, policies and procedures, accreditation standards of the Joint Commission for Healthcare Accreditation Organization (JCAHO), and federal/state law.   Candidate must have a working knowledge of basic accounting and researching medical staff resources and be able to deal appropriately with highly sensitive and confidential material. License/Certification: Certification as a professional in medical staff services and/or quality management preferred. CPCS certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire, or within 18 months of initial admissibility.
