Title: District Driver General Description: The District Driver will transport students to and from school and other activities using a District vehicle.
Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid Arizona driver's license
- Exemplary driving record. 39 month driving record must be obtained from the Motor Vehicle Department
- Must possess a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
- Must possess skill in the operation of district vehicle and equipment
- Must understand and comply with all traffic laws
- Must maintain an exceptionally clean, accident-free driving record
- Must possess First Aid certification and CPR training
- Must pass an initial physical examination and complete and pass required vehicle training
- Must successfully pass a drug screen urinalysis annually or as requested
- Ability to work an alternate schedule
- Must be able to push, pull or lift weights up to 50 pounds
- Related experience and/or training (preferred)
Duties and Responsibilities: - Transports students to and from school and other activities using a district vehicle.
- Supervises student conduct and maintains safety at all times.
- Follows established directions for breakdowns and emergencies.
- Must be able to react professionally for the safety of the students in the event of an emergency.
- Becomes knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of driving a school vehicle.
- Maintains accurate written records as required.
- Maintains a clean district vehicle.
- Maintains an awareness of unusual noises or conditions of vehicle, and reports such to vehicle maintenance staff.
- CPR/First Aid certification required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: - Excellent driving record and demonstrated skill in the safe operation of a motor vehicle.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, students, parents, resource agencies and the general public.
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.
Reports to: Assistant Director of Transportation
FLSA Status: Part-time, 183 Day Work Calendar
Compensation Range: $14.54 - $17.17; Classified Hourly Salary Schedule and District Benefits Package
Grant-funded for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school year
