Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineering (QE) Group is a part of the Quality Organization. We are divided into four areas Exterior, Interior, Chassis and Electrical. Each area is headed by a QE Lead and typically comprises 3-4 engineers.
What we do:
We fix problems. We become good at what we do when we fix problems fast, effectively, and get it right the first time. We move with a sense of urgency with a new vehicle produced every 65 seconds speed is really of the essence.
We focus on supplier and engineering-related problems that impede assembling our vehicles or compromise its performance in the field.
What we are looking for in you:
The ability to:
Manage daily project requests and prioritize your work well.
Develop quick containments with robust long-term solutions to different problems as they arise.
Home in on the root-cause through quick, efficient problem-solving.
Navigate complexity without getting bogged down.
Back-fill an off-shift as required.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
Fix supplier quality and engineering issues impacting GCA, Direct Run and Warranty.
Solve problems using Red X and other tools as applicable.
Assist production in preventing defects and recommend process improvements.
Collaborate with suppliers on SPPSs and ensure robust corrective action.
Share Lessons Learned with Engineering to prevent repeat design or build issues.
Review nonconforming parts and sub-assemblies for proper initial disposition and root cause.
Coordinate periodic system and process audits at the plant and supplier facilities.
Coordinate engineering change implementation. Assist in running PTRs (Production Trial Run).

Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or higher.
Familiarity with 3D modelling software
Good understanding of Statistical Process Control
Well-developed skills with Spreadsheets and data analysis.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
10+ years experience required.
