Job Summary

Indoor seed processing and packaging activities may include receiving, scanning, cleaning, treating, sorting, counting, labeling, or warehousing seed. Outdoor activities may include planting, pollinating, note taking, data entry, hand harvest.
Job Description
- Perform greenhouse, laboratory, field, or inventory-based activities in support of wheat seed production.
- Develop and maintain technical expertise in all related tasks, such as greenhouse operations, plant care, filing pots, monitoring conditions, floral emasculations, haploid induction, transplanting, harvesting, microscopy, plant characteristic notes, or inventory coordination.
- Regularly perform greenhouse operations upkeep: workplace hygiene, supply monitoring, irrigation maintenance, and monitoring of operational components for issues.
- Maintain technical expertise and perform all laboratory operations such as seed collection & sanitization, embryo rescue, embryo culture, chromosome doubling, and seedling checks.
- Satisfy key performance indicators in order to meet planned production schedule.
- Work collaboratively to collect data and create and contribute to development of greenhouse operation protocols for wheat production.
- Provide timely and frequent communication regarding any updates, changes, or issues that arise.
- Perform routine functionality checks and troubleshooting of related equipment or tools.
- Follow good sanitation practices, standard operating procedures, and adhere to all safety and company policies.
- Attend and participate in group and project meetings.

Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $11.00 to $19.00 per hour based on qualifications.
