Do you have a passion for wine and hospitality? Do you love to sell? Then we’d love you to join the Tasting Room Team at Dutton-Goldfield Winery.
Our small, family-owned winery is searching for an energetic and engaging person to join our tasting room team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned wine professional who is fun, goal driven and excels at hospitality and sales. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are required.

Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday are required with the possibility of picking up additional shifts as needs dictate.

Responsibilities:

•  Experienced in a Tasting Room environment with a track record of success in wine sales and membership acquisition.
•  Provide memorable tastings and wine education, both to the public and in private tastings with the trade, including food pairings.
•  Develop relationships and build loyalty with consumers, both inbound visitors as well as outbound communications via phone, email, and postal campaigns.
•  Operate POS system, reconcile income, and prepare accurate accounting of daily sales.
•  Represent winery at outside events as needed.
•  Review daily appointment calendar and oversee VIP visits, ensuring they are outstanding.
•  Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and motivating TR staff, including assisting in establishing policies and training manual.
•  Participate at off-site special events to increase traffic to the tasting room, and attend off-site winery events to network with other tasting room staff.
•  Oversee overall tasting room experience, from appearance of room, ambiance, and customer interaction through the sale, ensuring that every customer has an excellent and memorable visit.
•  Assist in the development of creative programs to drive sales, and to create unique and compelling experience in the tasting room, differentiating DG from the crowd, and execute these programs successfully and in a timely manner.
•  Ensure room is neatly stocked and displayed with wine, merchandise, and promotional materials, alerting when supplies are low or items are needed.
•  Manage TR cleanliness and organization including walk through with cleaning crew if necessary.
•  Serve Safe certification and follow through with staff hygiene when handling food.
•  Assist in planning and execution of tasting room events, including area-wide events (such as Wine Road), local group events and DG events and wine club parties.
•  Sign up tasting room visitors to our mailing list and wine club, keeping aware of monthly and yearly goals to achieve.
•  Assure all orders are compliant with state regulations, and all transactions are accurate, complete and reconciled.
•  Assist with projects as needed, ensuring they are followed through to completion by date required.
