The Medical Payment Poster is responsible for accurately posting and reconciling payments received from patients, insurance providers, and other payers. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of the healthcare organization by ensuring that all payment transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner. The position will be a contract role in Southern Indiana. Must be able to start immediately.

Responsibilities

Payment Posting:

• Receive and process payments from various sources, including patients, insurance companies, and third-party payers.
• Accurately post payments to the corresponding patient accounts in the electronic health records (EHR) or practice management system.
• Verify and reconcile payment information to ensure accuracy.

Data Entry:

• Enter relevant payment details, such as check numbers, electronic transfer information, and remittance advice, into the system.
• Update patient demographic and insurance information as needed.

Reconciliation:

• Reconcile payments with corresponding billing statements to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues promptly.
• Investigate and resolve any payment discrepancies, denials, or billing errors.
