Adult Psychiatrist - Outpatient - Clifton Springs Mental Health Center

DeKalb Community Service Board (CSB) is an innovative, community-based behavioral health and developmental disabilities services organization located in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia, offering a full range of mental health services, developmental disabilities programs and substance abuse treatment to more than 11,000 citizens annually who are uninsured and underinsured. As a public, not-for-profit organization, the DeKalb CSB operates more than 20 locations in DeKalb County with a diverse workforce of more than 450 direct-care and support staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The selected Psychiatrist will join an outstanding multidisciplinary team consisting of other psychiatrists, physician extender staff, registered nurses, therapists, counselors and administrative and support staff in a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC) planning site.


As an important member of this team, the physician will:

Complete psychiatric diagnostic assessments and follow ups and makes recommendations for treatment within an evidence-based framework.

Demonstrate strong clinical judgment in assessment, application of diagnostic criteria, clinical formulations, and sound triage decisions.

Provide consultation regarding client care to clinical staff.

May act as delegated physician of record for specific advanced practice nurse(s).

Actively contributes to the treatment center and organization through on-going collaborative efforts.

This position serves adults only.

Minimum Training and Experience


Adult Psychiatrist. Active Georgia Medical and DEA License. Currently Board Certified / Board Eligible. Proficient use of a computer and ability to utilize an Electronic Health Record and other applications.

Preferred: Psychiatry Board Certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of the principles and skill in the practice of psychiatry. Ability to make independent professional decisions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff and public. Ability to communicate effectively, build relationships and promote teamwork with all levels of coworkers. Ability to work from a person-centered, recovery oriented, and trauma informed philosophy in client care.


Working Conditions:

Works indoors in a clinic with potential for telehealth hybrid (up to 2 days/ week for full time and up to 1 day/week for part time working at least 16 hours/ week) and is able to use telehealth technology (as allowed by regulations). May be required to physically assist clients, may need to carry objects up to 10 pounds.

Critical thinking, exemplary interpersonal skills, and a consistent, contributing demeanor is required. Must have computer skills with ability to use an electronic health record and other applications efficiently.
