Job description
Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, with a focus on Corporate General Ledger Accounting, Month End Reporting, and Construction Project Accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, experience in the construction industry, and the ability to lead a team effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department both corporate and operational
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting process
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including conducting performance reviews and providing feedback
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives
- Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on both corporate and project accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Timberline)
