General Function:
The IT Field Technician is responsible for providing desktop support and performing device repairs.

Education/Training/Experience

Minimum: At least 1 1/2 years of relevant experience in Information Technology with an emphasis on desktop support and device repair

Preferred: 3 or more years of experience in Information Technology, A+ & Dell Certifications



Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to effectively support and interact professionally with diverse groups including but not limited to teachers, administrators, support staff, contractors and students
• Ability to learn new technology and keep informed about the latest technological advances
• Demonstrates effective communications skills (oral and written)
• Demonstrates effective organizational and time management skills
• Ability to effectively multitask, prioritize tasks
• Proficient in Chromebook and other device repairs
• Demonstrates knowledge of IT ticketing systems
• Demonstrates knowledge of multiple operating systems including Windows 7/10, Chrome OS, Mac OS X versions 10.7 and above.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Google and Microsoft suites
• Demonstrates knowledge of single sign on systems
• Demonstrates ability to bind/unbind district devices to the network
• Maintains a strong focus on customer service and quality assurance

Essential Job Functions
All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, facility and computer security policies and procedures. Functions are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the District. Current essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for providing desktop/end user support in person and remotely
• Responsible for Chromebook and other device repairs
• Utilize Technology ticketing system to track daily tasks such as device repairs, device prep, smartboard troubleshooting, etc.
• Backup Help Desk as needed
• Works effectively as part of a team as well as individually
• Other duties as assigned

Salary Range:
$40,772 - $46,395+

Resources Used in Performing Job Include (but are not limited to):
Standard network and office equipment including computers, phones, copiers, etc. Automobile to travel to district sites and/or meetings.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
The work is primarily performed in an office and is fairly sedentary. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation. At times bending, squatting, reaching and the ability to lift, carry, push up to 40 pounds. Frequent trips by automobile to district sites and departments is required.

Environmental Conditions:
Most work performed at district sites with some work in an office setting.

• Begins and completes work within the allotted time.
• Consistently appears in attire appropriate to the work environment.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the use of district equipment and software as needed to complete essential job functions.
• Safe guards District resources by adhering to the District's Responsible use of Technology Resources Agreement for Staff.
• Utilizes appropriate body mechanics to aid in the prevention of muscle strain/injury.
