Job description

Position Summary

The Office of Undergraduate Education in the Office of the Provost seeks an Executive Staff Assistant to support the Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education and join a fast-paced team of student success professionals who collaborate with partners across campus to close opportunity gaps, increase the University‘s overall graduation rate, and ensure that MSU provides support to every student to learn, thrive, and graduate.

The successful candidate will possess a high degree of professionalism, be detailed oriented, and have demonstrated expertise with calendaring and event planning, sophisticated experience and knowledge of diversity and inclusion issues, and the ability to work with students and their families to address problems as they arise.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education with course work in word processing, typing, shorthand, and grammar; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive University work experience in maintaining account ledgers, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software; editing, composing correspondence, taking dictation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Given the nature of the office and its responsibility, preference will be given to candidates with at least entry level training or experience in data analytics, academic affairs, project management, and/or public relations. Additional desired qualifications include proficiency with Microsoft 365 software; experience with EBS functionality; knowledge of MSU policies and procedures.
