Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a per diem Research Assistant for the department of Biochemistry &Molecular Biology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Under direction of the Principal Investigator, performs and assists with laboratory procedures and analyses in support of specialized research activities of the laboratory.  We use both mammalian cell and mouse models and employ techniques including proteomics/genomics, metabolomics, flow cytometry, biochemical and cell biology techniques. 

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Provide support to lab members as required.  
• Organize lab resources and assist in the set up and conducting of experiments including but not limited to maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring cleanliness and organization within the lab space, as required. 
• Handle additional related responsibilities as assigned by the Principal Investigator. 
• Maintain clear and comprehensive laboratory records. 

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Satisfactory completion of an undergraduate/graduate degree or currently enrolled in undergraduate/graduate studies in a relevant science.

• Equipment specific to a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology laboratory.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Physical Demands: Sitting, standing.  No special vision required. 
• Work Environment: Laboratory environment. 

Salary: $15.13/hour
