About the role: The Compliance Analyst is responsible for all the continuous activities that involve creating, applying, keeping up, and following the organization's compliance and privacy programs, policies, and procedures that cover compliance, privacy, and healthcare laws at the federal and state level.
Essential Functions:
- Performs privacy and compliance audits and develops recommendations to improve business processes, controls, efficiencies, and effectiveness to ensure that Premise is following applicable regulations.
- Performs quality assurance reviews; makes recommendations for quality assurance and improvement programs.
- Assist with hotline and occurrence system investigations.
- Performs interviews as needed to investigate an occurrence or for quality assurance of a process.
- Performs risk assessment to determine the root cause and ensure procedures and training material addresses root cause to prevent further loss of protected health information.
- Develops policies and procedures to maintain compliance with company standards, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
- Develops training material and provide ongoing training to employees.
- Responds to employee inquiries regarding appropriate uses and disclosures of Protected Health Information (PHI); ensures consistent application of policies in response to such inquiries and consistent documentation of such requests.
- Reviews contractual language to determine if Premise Health can comply with privacy and data terms.
- Reviews contracts and extract requests to determine if legal agreements are needed.
- Tracks and manages project tasks and work plan.
- Predicts resources needed to reach objectives.
- Develops and manage a detailed project schedule.
- Prepares reports and present findings.
- Works across all departments to identify compliance and privacy risks, trends, vulnerabilities, and research solutions for risk mitigation.
- Coordinates project meetings, status updates, and document findings from meetings.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2 years’ experience working in healthcare setting.
- Demonstrate experience in performing compliance risk assessments.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of healthcare operations
- Information systems or technology knowledge desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal. Ability to effectively present information & respond to inquiries from management, employees, and others, as necessary.
- Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage & prioritize multiple tasks/projects, work autonomously, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to operate with considerable initiative, applying an important level of discretion & confidentiality.
- Ability to analyze & document processes and make appropriate recommendations for improvement.
- Strong leadership & problem-solving skills. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism & maturity.
- Ability to work well in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness & communication among team members.
- Willingness to participate openly & honestly with management team to make or accept appropriate recommendations for quality improvement.
- Strong familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to healthcare provider licensing requirements. Paralegal or legal experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Access.
