Job Description:
A regional mutual company is seeking a Field Property Claims Professional to join their claims team. This position is heavily focused on farm structures, farm equipment and commercial risk. The claims representative will investigate, assess damages, write structural property estimates, make coverage decisions, and ultimately resolve personal, commercial and farm property claims. This role supports the company's vision by driving prompt and fair claims resolutions. The ideal candidate will service counties in central Illinois and will be local to that area. This position is remote but requires 2+ days per week out in the field traveling to assigned claims inspections. A company car will be provided and overnight stays are infrequent.
Responsibilities: - Investigate, evaluate and settle property insurance claims in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Utilize industry knowledge and best practices to accurately assess property damage and determine claim settlements.
- Conduct on-site inspections of damaged properties to gather relevant information and assess the extent of damages.
- Document findings through detailed reports and photographs to support the claims adjustment process.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with policyholders, claimants and other stakeholders throughout the claims process.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns and issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations, company guidelines and industry standards in claims processing.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance laws and regulations affecting property claims.
- Maintain accurate and organized claims documentation, including records of conversations, investigations and settlements.
- Generate comprehensive reports for management and stakeholders on claims statuses and trends.
Requirements:
- 1+ year of field property claims experience
- Experience with and understanding of farm policies, farm structure and equipment
- Experience writing structural property estimates
- Ability to climb and access roofs, basements, crawlspaces, etc.
- College degree (preferred)
- CPCU, CSLA, AIC, or other professional designation (preferred)
