What you’ll do
The Technical Solutions Lead reports to the Vice President of Planning + Execution and works with other Technical Solutions Leads to plan and solution technical projects from end to end.
In this role, you will work with individual teams to plan technical solutions from a holistic perspective, allowing Project Managers to build a plan they can execute against. In addition, you will own the technical components of the plan through completion.
Your Impact
Act as Technical Solutions Lead for design, development, integration, and maintenance of new and existing software and system solutions to support key business needs on projects
Lead technical areas anticipating and resolving issues to meet team commitments
Help define and participate in software development processes that leverage best practices and support continuous improvement of software team tools/processes
Work closely with development team leads, product managers, and project managers to ensure coordination of project dependencies
Support the technical team in researching data and analyzing business needs to make decisions related to systems and software solutions which ensure functionality while improving efficiencies and ROI
Provide technical direction and support to the product management team to ensure functionality requested is optimized to be within defined standards, performance, cost, and achievable timelines
Provide technical direction and support to the project management team to provide high level breakdown and estimates for the work required for projects
Work with the Project Manager to create estimated timelines for technical work based on the scope within a project, adjust timelines, and communicate impacts of blockers and scope changes to project management throughout the life of the project
Incorporate estimates provided by Developers and Subject Matter Experts into everyday technical solution planning
Work closely with the engineering department to manage resourcing needs for projects and to provide guidance for distributing project work between engineering teams
Perform code reviews of software deliverables
Efficiently design software and mentor developers through implementations according to specifications and established company coding standards
What you bring to the table
Prior experience as a technical leader, contributing knowledge to the team and to the organization
Effective communicator; always carrying a professional tone that fosters collaboration and teamwork
Demonstrated success executing and delivering projects
Skilled and and smart in managing risk and making technical decisions
Previous experience developing technical documentation for a variety of audiences (developers, product managers, etc.)
Hands-on experience, working knowledge, and strong technical skills in many of the following technologies:
Restful Web Services, XML, JSON
Java
React, Javascript
OAuth
Rust
Elixir
AWS services and environment
Bonus points
7+ years of software development experience
Experience and understanding of DevOps and QA processes and technologies
Travel industry experience
Experience working with clients to integrate solutions
Location
This role is remote and can be located anywhere inside the continental United States. iSeatz is a New Orleans-based company with Central Time Zone business hours, but feel free to work from your home office, from the beach, or from the cottage you rented for the summer!
