Job description

The Delta Romulus Detroit Airport has an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Sales & Catering Manager. Responsibilities: Specific Experience/Skills Need (but not limited to): • Identifies and solicits new and existing accounts from telemarketing, appointments, site tours, cold calls, outside sales calls, and inquiries via email, phone, and in-person interactions to generate topline revenue. • Negotiate group business, food and beverage, guest room rates, meeting room rental, and hotel services within assigned markets that meet or exceeds hotel revenue goals. • Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures. • Ensures all pertinent aspects of solicitation, closing, and customer communications are complete and documented and maintains existing accounts with an active trace/follow-up system. • Drive customer loyalty in order to grow the share of the account by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience. • Learn the Hotel Brand and Sales Strategy • Establishes client base organizations, associations, and corporate businesses through direct sales efforts to secure business for the hotel. • Work client-related special events on/off non-traditional work hours • Participate in Sales Blitzes • Responsible for the successful outcome of meetings, events, and programs from pre-arrival through post-departure. • Serve as Manager on Duty for all events, Participate in MOD Duties • Responsible for assisting with banquet set up of meeting/catering events. • Completes daily/weekly/monthly reports as directed by the DOS/GM • Other duties as assigned by the DOS/GM Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or hospitality management OR 3 – 5 years experience in Hotel Sales Management. • Banquet and Catering sales are a must. • Expertise in CI/TY, SFAWeb, and/or Salesforce • Effective communication and negotiation skills. • Ability to function proficiently in a fast-paced team environment and encourage team members to provide exceptional service. • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as business needs require. Preferred Qualifications: • Marriott Brand Hotel experience • Facilitation and/or presentation experience. • Personality that inspires others to execute events with excellence.
